We live in the city nowhere near farmland or open country(although we back onto woodland.) So imagine our surprise and delight at seeing 14 Redwing in trees just outside our garden! We have seen them before but we were in the countryside at the time. I understand they aren`t seen very often in this sort of habitat. We were lucky enough to be doing the big garden bird watch at the time so were quite pleased to be able to add them to our list! Anyone else encountered unusual birds in their garden on such an important birding day?
Bird song livens up the most boring day.
Nice birds aren't they. Unfortunately for me, all the birds hid during the BGBW!
'Dip a dee dah, dip a dee ay, we're not seeing any birds to-day...'
