It was pleasure to have a small flock of waxwings (about 18) in a tree adjacent to our garden in Pirton, Herts for about an hour yesterday. I understand we may only see this once or twice in our lifetime. Lucky us - hope our visitors are as lucky in finding plenty to eat!
Hi Sue
Congratulations on spotting the waxwings, it leaves a special feeing inside doesn't it?

Hi
I was thrilled to see a flock of about 20 Waxwings in my little tree in the garden - especially as it was my birthday and I was preparing dinner for my family. They were a bit bemused when I dragged them all to the window to see this event.
Better still they were all back again today.
Congrats DeeMay
I saw my first this year and I was lucky enough that they returned to the same tree 3 days in a row. 3 on the 1st day and 2nd day and then 6 on the third.
Hi DeeMay and Sue and welocme to the RSPB Forum. Enjoy yourself here
DeeMay: I am pleased to hear that you have seen Waxwings in your area
Sue: Good news of your sightings of the Waxwings too
After all our birding years, we have yet to see them - we still live in hope
Superb photo, Shane

Thanks Kathy and Dave, beautiful picture Shane. I was beginning to despair of Northampton - since I moved here I haven't had many little visitors in my garden despite (or because of) living opposite a huge ancient park.
