Unusual birds to our garden

We have a 15ft high apple tree some 20ft from our house, on Sunday 19th December whilst having lunch we spotted a flock of birds eating the remaining apples on the tree, I identified them as Redwings about 19 of them, then with in an hour 14 Waxwings began to feast aswell, then on Tuesday 3 Fieldfare also joined in aswell as a Lesser spotted woodpecker, a Green woodpecker and the normal garden birds.

Since then untill now I have been tieing apples on the tree and in our hedges to feed them all, what a wonderfull sght it has been, although the Fieldfare is a bit of a bully and territoral over the food toward all the other birds, consequently the number of Redwings has declined and we havn't seen the Waxwings since Friday 24th.

Regards, Bill in the Forest of Dean.
