Waxwings

Are there fewer waxwings than usual this year? I know the numbers coming over vary from year to year but I've only heard of one sighting so far this winter in my neck of the woods (South Yorkshire)

Thanks

  • Shaun, I have only heard of1 Waxwing here in N.Yorkshire It could be food supply and weather conditions are ok over on their home area so no need to move, I seem to remember that on occasions the main influx of Waxwings has happened early in the new year so time for them yet.Two years ago the local sightings were on New Years Day.
