I'm in Somerset, and would love to see a waxwing while they're so abundant. I've been scouring the area around Somerset, and cannot locate any.
Do I need to travel further afield? Are there any hotspots I should visit?
Thanks
This new forum is dreadful.
There've been a few sightings in Herefordshire over the weekend but thats a fair old trek for you still. I had a drive round the city at the weekend and didn't catch sight of any myself but there have been some in Ross and Ledbury which are at least near the M50 if you did make the trip.

I'm not bald. I've just got ingrowing hair!

We had one visit our bird table yesterday and sit for a few minutes. We had no idea what it was until we checked the bird books. We live just outside Lichfield, Staffordshire.
http://www.somersetbirds.net/ ifyou go this website-(Somerset Ornithological Soc)- and then Bird News, and then put Waxwing in the search box as a keyword you will get the recent reports of Waxwing in the Taunton area. I have not seen any myself. Good luck with your search.
