As I was unable to get to work today I decided to do something useful and write my Christmas cards, I even decided to go and post them and am so glad I did as look what I saw when I walked back onto my street!!! OMG I am still hyperventilating with excitement. Its so exciting seeing a Waxwing anyway, but our street is a new build with only pigeons, magpies and mistle thrushes being spotted before so to have these on a tree 3 doors from my house was magical!! They even were so gracious to hang around whilst I went and got my camera. Anyway enough of my gushing!!
Thanks all. I'm still on cloud nine now, just cannot believe they were on my own street!!
Mac...I'll email/update this forum if they're still around on Saturday. We'll be looking for them as Rik wants to see them. Hope you manage to find your car under all that snow, mine has been abandoned at work!
Cheers

Hi-
this is totally normal :) Waxwings turn up in odd places where 'serious' birders don't normally go :)

Mac (and anyone else living around the Leeds area), the waxwings are back today and they seem to have brought some mates with them!, we've spotted circa 100 of them! They disappeared for a while when a female sparrowhawk came prowling but they're back again!
Mac...I've sent you a separate email with my mobile number so contact me if you want to come over. We won't be around too much tho as off to buy a christmas tree then off to watch Leeds beat Palace (hopefully!)
