I mean the swallows and house martins, of course. Many of them are still here - is it the warmer weather? Surely they can't overwinter in the UK?

Hi,
Swallows normally pass through til mid October . The last few House Martins linger into November most years.
These are normally birds from further north. :)
Flocks of them passing through Norfolk atm.
See my posts on autumn migration and departing summer visitors :)

They're coming and going at my local Wildlife Trust reserve. Some days it's like the "Battle of Britain" with loads of them (House) swooping all of over the place, other days there are none to be seen.
