Winter's Here - Two Skeins of Geese overhead

Out with dog this morning and heard the unmistakable sound of wild geese flying overhead - then again later another skein over the garden.

  • Hi Claire

I have to say the weather has changed over the past few days.  It does feel more autumn like now.

The Geese just remind us that the seasons are changing too.   They are easy to easy if you live in the countryside.

When Dave and I lived in Aberdeen we could see the geese feeding in the fields close b.y and we could hear them taking off together if they where spooked by anything,

They are quite a sight to see and it takes one breath away as they fly overhead every time we see them

    Regards

    Kathy and Dave

  • They are back here too, heard them Friday night when walking to my car and they cetainly weren't there Friday morning!

  • Its a great sound Claire and I love to see the huge flocks flying. You will have to have your camera ready next time. I usually end up with a blur. No good with birds in flight

  • Hi Judith, Kathy,

I am going to be away from home from tomorrow to end of next week but will definitely get the camera on them later - maybe I'll catch another flock today. A small group went over early this morning but they were flying quite high.
