Plenty of Turns no turning up around the Exe Estuary with plenty of Whimbrel, Godwits, Redshanks, Sandpipers and Curlews turning up every day.Looks like all the local Swifts have now left us for another year... very sad to see them go. Had a week in the New Forest last week and noticed large numbers of Spotted Flycatchers, Warblers and Redstarts throughout the Forest and the heath, all feeding up for the long push south later on when conditions are right.
I meant Terns!, Common, Little, and Sandwich Terns, around the Estuary feeding on Sandeels and Whitebait near the sandbanks.
Good that there is plenty of food for them though, isn't it?
