Hi,
I know cuckoos are thin on the ground generally, and the north winds and volcanic ash didnt help summer migrants this spring but I've been hearing reports ( and heard one myself) of late cuckoos in the last couple of weeks.
Any one else ?

Hi Seymour
Definitely heard 2 cuckoos last Sunday out walking and also heard one this morning when outside in the garden which sounded quite near.

I haven't heard a cuckoo at all this year. We usually always hear one by now.

Hi shorty and welcome to the RSPB Forum, Enjoy yourself here
Yes, there are Cuckoos around at this time of the year. Warblers are around now, nesting, and Cuckoos like to target certain species of Warbler with their mock eggs - so the Warbler ends up feeding ther cuckoo chick,
Heard one myself a couple of weeks ago local to me in Bedford over towards Sandy, where the RSPB Headquarters is located.
I also heard one while in Menorca in May this year - but it was to far away to see
