    Hello Graham and welcome to the RSPB Forum

    Great news about the Swifts being around the UK once more

    Makes us all happy to know that they are around once more.

    Hope to see them in our local area after our holidays when we visit our regular favourite reserves.

    Cannot wait for that event too {big smile}

    Regards

    Kathy and Dave

  • Newbie here so hello to all.

    I love swifts!  Saw my first 4 on 28th April (naughty things - they were early!)  They are here every year and it's such a joy to watch them.  As I'm typing I can here them screaming outside my back door.  This morning I walked the dog and they were playing so low that they almost parted my hair!  There are now about 40 of them playing as they do, every year and it's so wonderful to watch.  I was standing with my dog, watching them this morning and a gentleman approached me and asked what they were.  I was in my element telling him all about them and he was genuinely happy to become a little further educated about our little friends.  It's nice to share something beautiful with other people.  I just love those Swifts!

    This is all really valuable data to us and it would be really appreaciated if you could submit any details you have like this by completing our recording form here. For more information on this years swift inventory please see the page help us help swifts.

    Cheers!

  • I have tried several times to report it but it doesn't seem to work.  I have even seen a nesting area and added it twice to the report.  The numbers have lessened as where they come every year and have done since I have known (I have lived down the road for 17 years and the same chappies come back every year)  We have a large industrial estate on the opposite side of the road which has since had new buildings so the previous nesting sites are no longer available but the road where they are still playing and nesting is thriving.

  • Apologies for that it might be to do with the weblink being accessed from account please try this page and let me know if you have any further problems (I've also edited the hyperlink above to work as well) http://www.rspb.org.uk/applications/swiftsurvey/

  • Okay thanks.  Did it again and looked at my record data and all three entries I posted are there except that the number of swifts has doubled since I last made my entry.
