Turtle Dove

We managed to catch up with a migrant we have not seen locally for 3 years,a Turtle Dove.It was at a view point about 20 miles away called Sutton Bank where we had gone to see the numerous warblers that breed in the nearby scrub.A few minutes after the National Park information centre had closed and the area had gone quiet the Dove was "purring" and then came down to feed with the Collared doves,we had almost forgotten how good they looked, certainly one of the birds of the year so far.
