Hoopoe

I have seen the elusive Hoopoe many times on a short back road between Lordshill (Surburb of Southampton) and North Baddersley in Hampshire, as drive this road to work. Also have just come back from a Xmas break in Puerto Banus Spain (6.1.14). Actually saw "two" Hoopoes together on the ground (feeding?) on the road side next to the apartment, very close to the Aloha Golf Club. We see them flying around the pine trees on a regular basis. Beautiful sight, such a colourful exotic bird, wonderful.

    Hi Paul,   How wonderful to spot a Hoopoe near Southampton, that must have been amazing and also the two Hoopoes together foraging on the ground in Spain.    Not sure if you have seen Edgebanders recent thread about a Hoopoe on his brother/sister-in-laws terrace in Dubai as there is a photo of it too ...........CLICK HERE
