I did not have any luck searching out Waxwings over the winter, but yesterday evening about 7pm when clearing up after dinner I spotted a small flock in a poplar tree a few yards from my kitchen window. They didn't stay for long but Mr M managed to take some photos, although the light was very poor.

Well spotted.A reward for being a Good Person I`d say. :-) I normally get a view as they return across E.England on their way home but the town will be punished for cutting back a neighbours tree this week....It`s where they like to stay & rest. :-(
There does still seem to be good numbers showing on bird hotlines also plenty of wintering Thrushes still about maybe waiting for better weather before heading home to breed.
