I saw black-tailed godwits at Lymington marshes a couple of weeks ago and it struck me that it looked pretty much the same except that in your photograph I could see bars on the tail. Here's one of my photos which is like yours but the other way around.

this is a nice comparison photo- note for future reference how the supercilium on the Black tailed stops at the eye whereas it continues behind in the Bar tailed. It seems to work in 96% of cases.
