Hi guys
Hope you can help me out, have had this regular visitor to my garden in recent weeks, I am assuming she is a female blackbird but her breast is very colourful, like orange or red compared to other female that we have visiting, she is also alot more shy that the others and doesnt hang oround for long, she lands picks up food quickly and flies off again - hence why the pictures arnt great!
All suggestions welcome please!
Hi Bookie, a female Blackbird for sure. As for the orange/red breast, I cant really see it but maybe a lighter shade of brown or maybe reflection if the sun was shining!
Feed The Birds....not the cats!!!!
I know....my spelling's crap !!
Hi Bookie, and welcome to the forum.
Some of my lady blackbirds have lovely orange breasts. Apparently they are winter visitors and will soon be on their way home. They also tend to be bigger and more aggressive than our resident females.
Cheers, Linda.

Hi Sparrow
I wasn't aware that my aggressive blackbird was a winter visitor and that she might soon be going home.
Thank goodness for that!
Mind you, she spends so much time chasing other birds away from food, and not eating herself, that I'm sure she will burn herself out too much to breed successfully.
Best wishes Chris
