Ive been baffled by an animal noise I heard whilst in Cheshire, at dusk, beside a large lake.
(Combermere Lake, around 9pm, end of June 2024)
The only way I can describe it is a craw, followed by a grumble, it repeated around 3 times, then a long pause before starting again. It may just be a weird call from a crow but seemed a little low pitched.
The noise seemed to be slowly travelling as if it was moving across the surface of the lake... but dont take this as a certain as I had no visual on it at all.
I have a recording of it, its faily quiet so you'll need volume up... if i can figure out how to post it!
