What type of bird is this sound?

Hi, can anyone help identify this bird please? It has a kind of "wa hoo" call. It's at about 00:13 and 1:03 on this recording (sorry it's come out quite quiet). We're in a small town in North Notts UK near Sherwood Forest. I heard it during the dawn chorus originally, but have since heard it in the day time. It doesn't sound like a cuckoo, wood pigeon or dove. Apparently there is a peahen that has been sighted in the town.
