Is anyone good at being able to id Terns. I saw these 2 in Majorca. Im thinking an Arctic Tern and a Common Tern
Hi Alan, can't really help only to say Google Lens picked out the bottom one as Common Tern but my comment will bump your thread back to top of page one where I hope someone with knowledge can help!

Thanks Wendy. I believe the bottom one is a Common Tern. Its the top one I'm not so sure of. The beak looks completely red.
I can't really tell you what the top Tern is, other than say its not an Arctic Tern - they are quite delicate and have long tails streamers and very short legs. I would agree that the bottom one is a Common Tern
Thanks Bob. Then its possible they are both Common Terns. Just a different posture. Many of the markings match up though its strange about the beak
Photo isn't clear enough, IMO and I don't know anything about birds of Majorca , to give a definitive i.d. other than agreeing it's not an arctic tern.
