Dordogne small butterfly - any ideas what species? Also got an image of this juvenile(?) - lots of swallows and house martins flying about....but which is it? Or is it something else? Cheers

I'm by no means an expert but I think the butterfly is a Sooty Copper. Germain, one of our members, is much more knowledgeable than me and will be able to confirm or correct my ID.

The bird looks like a crag martin to me too, my first thought was a sand martin but when I saw Tony's reply I looked in my bird book and I had never heard of a crag martin before but in my opinion Tony got it right.

Yes, that looks good for a Sooty Copper Lycaena tityrus (male) - the females show more orange on the top wing uppers, and I would agree with the Crag Martin -
