Seen alongside the River Parrett this morning. Does anyone know what it is please? About 5-6cm long.
I think, but am guessing, that it is a cream spot tiger moth.
Looked it up on iNaturalist, could well be a Cream-spot Tiger we don't get them up here

It's definitely a Tiger but I'm not 100% sure which given it's slightly damp condition but I'm leaning towards Garden Tiger given the behaviour, they can be found basking in winter sun and will come out to feed in sheltered spots in the winter. The other possible would be a Wood Tiger but they are very localised
