Hello all, I saw these two birds on a walk earlier today. Unfortunately it was rather gloomy at the time and I was on the wrong side of what light there was.
Could this be a whitethroat?
Could this be a youngster? There were stonechats, meadow pipits and skylarks and in the area.

At least give people a chance with the pictures. I use Photoshop but google 'adjust photo brightness contrast' and one of the free programs should be able to do the job. So yes to whitethroat but I wouldn't be sure about the juvenile. I'm not sure how large the image below will appear, it seems tiny in the preview, but you get the idea; all the information's in the picture already, you just need to adjust it to make it visible.

Thank you. That's very helpful. It did not occur to me to edit the photos.
I had a go and made this, which does make the details clearer. I expect it can be made much better than this.
Will try this in future.
