Hello, there’s a strange sound that I can hear most nights in my garden, a short and sharp high pitched sound that flies over pretty quickly. It’s in short bursts and repeats every minute or so. I’m pretty sure it’s a bat since the sound goes over quickly, but I don’t know what these sound like. I’ve attached two recordings, one with an annoying helicopter which is slowed down so you can hear it better. Any ideas? Thanks
The attachments aren’t working, I’ll try again tomorrow

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can

Likewise, that's why there are bat detectors available to listen in, but I'm happy to be corrected.
I'll look forward to your recordings Ellis when you manage to get them uploaded.

It worked this time, although it’s very hard to hear. It’s a sharp short high pitched ‘zzz’ sound, I’m glad it’s not my ears going crazy. It should be slowed down. Thanks, if this doesn’t work I’ll try again tomorrow

I finally got it properly. It came low over the garden, low enough for it to make a proper recordable sound. The noise happens throughout but it gets louder at the end. Thanks (please tell me this works finally)
Hi Ellis, I just ran it with my echo meter and it's not picking up anything. That's not to say there isn't anything there, just that it's going to be tricky
