Identify this Strange creature

Last summer i took this picture in southern Spain, could anyone help with it?

Hello David, I'm not certain but it looks like a dragon fly larvae to me, we get similar in our garden pond on the grass's when they have climbed up to hatch. Other more expert may well disagree.
