Hello Andy, I have had a look around and it seems that the Yellow Billed Magpie is solely found in California.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Hi CatLady,
Yup that is what I read also.. I will keep returning and hopefully grab an image.
Andy
Could your Magpie have been eating something a bit messy to colour its bill,I have certainly not heard or seen anything like it and no report of an American bird being blown in.
Pete
Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
Funnily enough I said to my wife at the time, look that Magpie looks like its had its beak in a bucket of paint..
I guess unless I manage to spot it again, we shall never know!
Never mind Andy we all get those sort of sightings they end up in the "could a been a" file, mine has got quite big over the years LOL
Could possibly be the bird from America that's escaped from a possible collector across this side of the water ??
That is a possibility Dale some folk have a wide range of exotics in their collection. I had not heard of a Yellow Billed Magpie until Andy posted it on here.
