I saw this bird whilst walking yesterday perched in a willow tree in a small wooded area along side a stream on farmland ( mainly orchard and grass) below the greensand ridge in Kent. I cannot find anything like it in any of my bird books or online. It was calling to another bird nearby with a sharp, repetitive call of a long chirrrup followed by two short twip twip calls. It was really quite brightly coloured and not at all shy, which surely makes it unlikely to be a willow warbler or chiff chaff? Any thoughts appreciated.

To me it looks like a Yellow Wagtail, I could be wrong there mind, but that's my suggestion :o)
Thanks PaulE - I agree with you and having now looked again at the books it looks like a female. Had I seen it on the ground it would have been more obvious, but the fact it was in a tree threw me off the scent!
I'm fairly certain it's a Grey Wagtail.

It's a grey wagtail, the grey on the head and back give it away.

Yellow Wagtails are much rarer to see.
