This another bird from the same area, i at first thought it was a reed warbler that i had just shot 5 minutes before, but when watching back the videos i realised how orange the breast is. I hope somebody can help. Thanks. This is the link to the video on youtube, watch it in hd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOKHTggnkvo
Hi there
That looks like a male bullfinch that you've got there. He's doing his best to conceal himself behind the twigs.
I took a snapshot from your video and lightened a bit. You can just about make out his black crown and the very stout bill.
Very nice birds. Check out this close up of a bullfinch that somebody has posted on YouTube.

Thank you very much TJ, thats good to know. On the link that you have sent me the orange on the bird looks alot more vivid than the one i have here, do you know why that is?
Hi again
I think I could have made a mistake with this one. The more I look at the video I'm beginning to think it looks more like a chaffinch. It looks too slim for a bullfinch The breast looked so pink that I may have jumped in a bit too quickly. The chaffinch's breast colour is more orangy. The trouble is that it's difficult to see the head. Both birds have a somewhat similar sounding call.
Did you notice any other features about it?
Before you credit me with best answer I think we need another opinion. Sorry if I have got it wrong.
Hi
the bird in the freeze frame is a male chaffinch, the bill is too small for a Bullfinch.

Certainly a Male Chaffy, and using one of it's many calls....confusing little beggars!
