If its no fun Yer no doin it right!
Nice pic of a cuckoo, you was lucky to be able to take a pic like that.
I have herd these birds so many times but only seen one once as it flew past me!!
What a lovely pic of a cuckoo.
They are up here but I'm as yet to hear 1 this year.

Excuse wobbily dyslexic spelling!
You are Sooooooooooooo lucky to have taken this photo! I heard my first cuckoo (this year) just yesterday ... but it was a misty morning and it was quite a long way off - so I didn't get any photos.
Well done you for taking such a wonderful photograph.
I wonder if BBC's Springwatch will be doing their Cuckoo Survey again this year? Make sure you register your sighting if they do.
Happy Bird Watching
Best Wishes
Diana
Great photo S. Beautiful bird, but I haven't heard one this year as yet.
Cheers, Linda.

Hi TJ
I must admit my first thought was female cuckoo but my book says 'although adult males and most females have a blue-grey head, neck, and upperparts, some adult females are brown and barred on the head neck and upperparts.'
I know all juveniles are brown so I added juvenile to my answer, rather than just putting cuckoo. If it's a juvenile it should have a white nape patch but we can't see the nape.
I'm quite prepared to say it's either a female or a juvenile cuckoo. :-))
Hi
Teejay sxcores again- it's a hepatic phase adult female cuckoo :)
Photographed on Lesvos last week :)
