This is a bit like MC's quizzes. Experienced birders will probably know what this bird is straight away, but please will you let lesser experts have a go first?
I had to post this photo because I think it's so funny:
Best wishes Chris

hi Chris
A Lapwing comes to mind due to the tennis racket shaped wings (in flight)

Hi all
Well done Al and Kathy, and all of you who knew straight away but played along!
I almost binned it, but then I thought it was so funny I would show it to you via a quiz.
It's a Lapwing across the road from my house. I've seen them for 3 days but they just go somewhere else when I try to get close. I sat on a stile and watched both fields until I got a few shots, but they aren't very good I'm afraid.
They were blooming hard to photograph because they were all over the place, and they are so noisy. Not just because they are vocal in flight, but they also make a loud drumming noise with their wings. It's bizarre.
I like the first photo the best because for some reason the others remind me of that cartoon 'Stop the pigeon' as they look so comical.
They are excelent photos by the way .
I love to watch Lapwings do there sky dance .
