Taken ages ago as it took off from a field near some woodland. Sorry about the quality.
The chances of it being a Purple Heron are small i know but just wanted to be sure

Hi,
this is a tricky one at first sight : The bird looks dark, long winged and fairly large footed. However, the head pattern, neck bulge (especially) and underpart pattern clinch it for me as a Grey Heron :))
