Hi again, I was photographing at Coombe Abbey this morning and suddenly out of the corner of my eye a very little bird flashed bye. I waited patiently about an hour and then saw it was collecting for a nest in a bunch of reeds on the side of the lake. Once I had got bird, nest and the sun in some sort of order the photos followed but it was very fast, even at 11 shots a second it was out the nest and gone and the other way round all you get is whirring wings and rear end.
However perseverance paid off and well over 150 shots latter I had two that are viewable but now I don't know what it is. So once again guys your expertise is needed.
Thanks million! David . . . . . .
PS ~ It is the same photo I have just cropped it a bit, the other shot is almost identical!
Hi David,
well spotted and great photos! I take it that one was building a nest in that long grass?
I was fortunate to witness 2 Wrens yesterday who must have been having some form of territory-related disagreement as they were making some kind of hissing sounds.
Thanks for sharing the photos David They are wonderful wee birds with a voice ten times there size lol

If its no fun Yer no doin it right!
Hi Paul,
Yes it was just like a typical reed bed and scrub side to a lake. I was trying to shoot off some pics of the very ancient 'heronry but not having much success as everything was flying away from me when the flash of the wren caught my eye. It was only a few feet from the waters edge not where the thought of a wren entered my head. It was so un-domestic, hence my search for some exotic answer. I am now on the look out for wrens!
Good watching, David
