Hi again, I was photographing at Coombe Abbey this morning and suddenly out of the corner of my eye a very little bird flashed bye. I waited patiently about an hour and then saw it was collecting for a nest in a bunch of reeds on the side of the lake. Once I had got bird, nest and the sun in some sort of order the photos followed but it was very fast, even at 11 shots a second it was out the nest and gone and the other way round all you get is whirring wings and rear end.
However perseverance paid off and well over 150 shots latter I had two that are viewable but now I don't know what it is. So once again guys your expertise is needed.
Thanks million! David . . . . . .
PS ~ It is the same photo I have just cropped it a bit, the other shot is almost identical!
It's a lovely little wren!! Excellent pic!! Such delightful birds (and quick!!) Great to see some nest building!

Absolutely amazing ~ I feel a bit of a idiot for not even thinking of a wren as I have been looking at everything but! There you go! But believe me it was so fast and so tiny!
Thanks,
David
PS As they say "here's one I took earlier" like 18 months ago as I have not seen one since ~ a rarity in these parts
Lovely pic! Looks like a youngster too with that gape!
So cute - Wrens are just a lovely little bird
Love both of your pictures very much.
You are so privileged to have photos of a Wren
Thank you for sharing with us.
Regards
Kathy and Dave
Thanks David. Lovely to see your wren in it's natural environment. I can well believe how difficult it would have been to capture those shots.
I saw a wren the other day when I walking along my local river, just as I got my camera up to take a picture it moved, it was so quick, I didn't get my picture but I did get to see it but all to briefly.
Love pictures you have there.
It really makes me stop and think ~ the humble little wren. This and the Robin and Blackbird were the birds of my childhood and yet here we are 'half a century' on held in awe of that little Wren. I have possible only seen two or three in perhaps ten years.
On the other hand it is quite exciting to get so much pleasure and fun photographing 'a wren'. A real lesson in life!
Best wishes, all. David
David your wren photos are some of the loveliest I've seen - they're one of my favourite birds. Whenever I've tried to take a photo of the ones in my garden, all I end up with are little brown splodges so well done you.

Hi David,
I echo what Kezmo has said. I haven't managed a photo of a wren at all, not even splodges. Well done - and your patience paid off handsomely.
Cheers, Linda.
