I saw this juvenile wagtail at Clumber Park this afternoon. I am presuming it is a pied wagtail but just wondering if there was any chance it could be a white wagtail or whether this is just wishful thinking! They both look very similar in my bird id book. Thanks.

I'm going for a juvenile Pied Wagtail ? .......but only going by images I've seen online.

They are really similar, Pieds usually being a bit darker. Apparently the blackish line between the white supercilium and grey crown that's visible in your pic is a good pro-Pied feature. White Wagtail is a very rare breeding bird in Britain, and it's a bit early for juveniles born on the continent to be migrating, so the odds are very much in favour of this young 'un being a Pied.
