I grabbed these shots at Merkinch Local Nature Reserve just outside Inverness last week. I knew there was something different over on the left end, I now know what but, there seem to be a couple of other odds and ends mixed in. Could anyone have a look through and let me know what they see please?
For example, there's a duck just right of centre and far right, what looks like a smaller wader?
TIA
Duck towards the centre could be a Wigeon; far right looks to be a small wader, you'll need an expert for that one; can only think of a stint that small !!

I've no idea, I'm replying to see any follow up replies out of curiosity.
A quick guess could be little stint.

I'm away at mo, do can only view on phone and can't zoom in at all, so no help I'm afraid. And let's face it, even if I could zoom in my help would be questionable
Morning all and thank you for all the input so far there are definitely Wigeon and Teal in there HAZY and I've been attempting to look at the suspect ones again today, maybe just another Redshank but in the water so looks smaller? Might have to do some serious cropping!!!!
oooooh! Research update! A Ruff?

still looks too small but I'm not good at waders so browsing "Seymouraves" illustrations !!! - need an expert I've cropped it down for you .....
Thanks Hazel, I convinced myself it was just because it's in the water but it does look a good bit smaller
centre duck is a teal i think (infact i think all the ducks are Teal ). as you can jst see abit of the green speculum, plus theyre tiny compared to the redshank. The left wader is also a Redshank because you can see the bill (orange/red and black half to the tip) and its jst lower in the water and at a different angle. The duck far right almost looks pintail but its so small i think again its a Teal. Tx
There are also what looks like two Greenshank in there
I concur Sir, x2 greenshank!
