I’m a Hertfordshire birdwatcher and I have nuthatch, blue tit, great tit, coal tit and robin at my feeders, as well as dunnocks, wood pigeons, magpies, crows, jackdaws, green woodpeckers and great spotted woodpeckers around the garden. I would like to know what bird any other Hertfordshire residents have in their gardens to built a rough idea of birds in my area. In my town, I have recorded an extensive list of species, including some rarities like barn owls and collared doves. Furthermore, my school, which is also in my town, has a lake for cross country runs which I exploit for viewings of cormorants, mallards, great crested grebes, black headed and herring gulls and even whooper swans! If anyone would like to see my photos, please ask.
Hope someone replies to this soon!

Hi I have a bird visit and cannot find what it might be. The photo I took doesn’t show well enough.
it has a dark red head and neck with pale underneath and brownish feathers. I know when it is around as it has a loud musical tweet. Any ideas.
Hi Susan, try posting the photo anyway... there are some astonishingly good IDers about! (me excluded )
