Hello,
We have what I believe to be Starlings nesting in our garage roof, every year.
Unfortunately in March we need to have major work done to the roof and I am worried about the disturbance to them.
I went out the other day to block the access hole up as I have not seen them for a long time.
However, minutes after I did this, 2 of them suddenly appeared, flying around the access hole and looking rather upset!
So I immediately went out and unblocked the hole and shortly after, both birds flew back into the garage.
Assuming it is too early for them to be nesting, so would they simply be roosting in the garage currently?
Can anyone help with suggestions of what to do in this sort of situation please?
Many thanks,
Pete
Hi, I have starlings that nest in the eaves of my house and for the rest of the year they roost there too (I hear them return every evening sometime around 3:30pm at the moment!). I'm not sure what to suggest - they won't start nesting until next year, usually no earlier than March, so perhaps you could let them continue to roost during the winter into February?
