I saw a group of three swans in a river with a dead swan. One of the swans was sitting on top of the dead swan and ‘riding’ it as they all travelled down the river. The other swans were also pecking at the dead swan. Is this normal? What does this mean? Thank you!
I hope somebody more knowledgeable than me will answer this, but it certainly sounds like mourning behaviour to me.
Of course, it could be quite the opposite... maybe a male swan gloating over his kill?
I wish I knew though, sounds fascinating.
You might untested on how the Mute Swan and the Royal Family. And this is true!

Ian.
