The Blackbirds have been in their nest since March and I am feeding them and they have become quite tame. A few days ago they both got chased out of their nest by a pair of Wood Pigeons who are now installed on the nest 24/7. The Blackbirds are quite distraught and still come to my windowsill for cherries and bananas but look a bit harrased.
What should I do?
I would like to help the Blackbirds.
Nothing! As I’ve said many many times lots of wildlife die every year! That is nature. If 100% of wildlife survived we would be overrun!
Regards,
Ian.
Will the Blackbirds die because they don't have a nest?
All will be fine. Just gotta let nature do its thing
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Actually I'd rather intervene to help the Blackbirds.
I am sure you would but that's how problems start when humans interfere with nature..its best left alone
Its also illegal to interfere with any birds nest during breeding season which you may or may not be aware of!
Hilarious. The RSPB is an organisation devoted entirely to intervening in nature to assist birds.
Tell that to the Wood Pigeons!
I'm aware thank you. I have no intention of interfering with the nest.
Am quite sure the Blackbird pair will sort out another suitable site and construct a new nest, there's plenty of time left!
