Heard scratching in the loft, could hear birds tweeting (sounded like a few birds overlapping) and when I went up there I caught sight of a female blackbird just inside the loft by the eaves - she left when I put the light on.
I'd like to keep the birds out of the loft but is there any possibility that they'd be nesting at this time of year? I don't want to disturb them if they are and wonder when it would be safe to close off any openings.
Thanks.
Hi, more likely to be starlings? They will not not be nesting just now but roosting, if the weather has been bad. I would think you could block off and or clear out now, as you do nesting boxes at this time of year. Hopefully someone else will confirm or correct this.
