I have an injured female blackbird in our back garden and not sure whether to leave it alone as what I think is her partner has been regularly returning to feed her. The male will hang around and chirp if anyone or anything is in the near vicinity, so don't want to move the injured female to upset him. Any advise please?
Hi Steph, are you sure it's injured as it sounds more like a fledgling...they are fed by the male , they can't fly for about 7 days after leaving the next and just hide under undergrowth until they are able to fly . Leave well alone if this is the case... fledglings look like female blackbirds also.
