I had a great tit roost from October to mid january then left. On April 12th I checked the camera box and a great tit had returned with some evidence of starting a nest. The bird a female I think, returns every night but the nest has not been added to. Is it too late for this bird to start a family. Why would this behaviour take place?
Hi Dave and welcome to the forum, this happened to me with a Blue Tit, all I could think was maybe changed their mind for some reason, maybe spooked or could have lost a partner so no reason to proceed ... who knows but not too late yet if your bird finds another mate! Bit more info here ...
