We have a bird box on our wall about 12 feet up and believe have the same blue tits nesting every year.
However have just noticed 2 smashed eggs on the paving slabs beneath the bird box?
Have the blue tits thrown them out because there's not enough room?
it won’t be the same pair year after year. Small birds aren’t long lived. Is it worth repairing the box once this latest nest has failed/finished? Could have been thrown out, but more likely dropped through the large gap in the base of the box.
