Hi. My friend has made me a beautiful bird box. I've recently seen a grey tit taking interest and pecking at the entrance hole. I've just measured it and it looks around 26-27mm. Is this wide enough or do I need to make it a little bigger?
When do they start nesting? I have plenty of feed in the garden and wouldn't want her to miss out on using the house.
Thsnks in advance Nicky
Hope you feel better soon, am sure watching the birds will help!

Thank you so much... Oh I'm loving them
Hi Nic, yes we live in a lovely part of Britain. Hills, rivers, scenery that it outstanding and lots more. Not a lot of trees in Caithness and quite flat and plenty of wind! No snow for now, thankfully! We do get it but not nearly as bad as years past, mostly a fall for a few days and it is gone. Hard frosts though and really cold. We did have awful snow several weeks ago, the first named storm I think, I was stuck in iit for a few hours, drifting off the fields, got stopped as cars in front were stuck and I could not get going again, had to leave my car safe off the road and got a lift home, have never seen anything ike it before, very scary. Hope you are better soon, enjoy the birdies.
