A Pair of blackbirds are feeding chicks in our hedge, unfortunately yesterday evening the female blackbird was taken by a sparrow hawk. The the male still seems to be feeding the chicks. A local fishing tackle shop sells Dendrobaen worms and Lob worms are these the same as garden worms and suitable to put out to help out the male.

Most folk would opt for mini live meal worms as far as I know...sorry I cant be of help
If your not sure if other worms are ok like the ones you mentioned above. ordinary mealworms are commonly sold in shops and are ok for birds so it would be best to stick with normal mealworms if your not sure. Normally If your not sure about something it’s best to stick with what you know is ok until you know for certain weather something is ok or not. Exspeacially if it will be fed to young by its parent. some people use dry mealworms but you’d need wet them before giving it to birds so live mealworms are usually the best option if possible Exspeacially since it’s more natural for them than dried mealworms. I hope this helps.
