Collared doves that have been coming for years are lost due to our tree being removed. What can we do

Hi Kate, there is not much you can do - they may return once they have acclimatised to the changed landscape. As an aside it would be a good idea to change you user name as these are public open forums and you might find yourself bombarded with spam and unwanted contacts

Collared Doves can be taken or killed for safety and health reasons. So basically in certain situations Collared Doves are not a protected species.

Thank you, yehhh I think that I'll remove my post. I have spoken with the RSPB and they said that there wasn't much that we could do as the tree was diseased and would have fallen down anyway. It was planted for my late mother in law 50 years ago and we are devastated to see it go, but unfortunately there was no saving it. We are going to have a Scott's pine put in later in the year once the ground has settled. Thank you so much for your response x
