Good afternoon!
I am new to this website. I am also new to ponds!
If someone could please described to me what's going on in the attached photos and offer any advice, I'd be really grateful!
The lily pad plant was initially looking strong, but now it is going brown and looks like it is being eaten? it has also detached from it's root - but it looks like it has new growth on it?
the terracotta pots are there for the frogs - but they are covered in something and I can't find out what it is?
Thank you for your time in advance!
Pond lily leaves, like all leaves, will become food for many things, plant or creature based. My garden pond also has some leaves being eaten, so its not unique to your pond, many others will have the same.
The most likely culprit is a water aphid.
Its difficult to gauge the pond size, or even capacity (depth), along with what the current life forms are, and depending on your final intentions are for the pond, what course of action, if any, can be taken.
