Just a suggestion Maybe you could try to take a photo of the Brambleing When you get the chance. I think that might help aswell?

Not wanting to disagree with Robbo on this, according to enews from local reserve their flock of about 60 birds was reduced to 2 overnight which stayed an extra 3 days before leaving so maybe it is not so unusual
