I have enjoyed having a pair of White Doves nesting under the sola panels on my roof for quite sometime . It was lovely watching them 'kiss' and coo at each other.
Then this morning I discovered one of them dead in the garden. A local cat had killed it, I removed the body as the cat kept coming back for it. I am so upset as I understood they mated for life.
What will the other one do, does anyone know ? This morning it was sitting on the ridge tiles all alone.
This cat has previously killed a pigeon in my garden. Any suggestions on how to keep it out of my garden ?
I'm sorry to read about the loss of the white dove.
Keeping cats out of gardens is nigh on an impossible task, short of erecting a very high wall or fence, that is assuming there is nothing the cats can climb and leap up on up, like patio tables, garden sheds and even neighbours trees and shrubs, and a canopy over to prevent them getting in.
There are various cat scarers out there that claim to keep cats out, but I've never tried one, soI can't comment on how effective they are. Someone here may have used, still use one, or more than more, and can offer their input.
