Just watched a prolonged aerial attack on a buzzard by a bird of prey about half its size. The smaller bird was very persistent and vocal. A dull day in Furness so unable to determine colours. Any ideas please.
A male Peregrine would fit the bill as itisadunnock suggests also a female Kestrel will have a go at a Buzzard to move it away from its territory. We have two pairs locally setting up territory and anything is fair game to the females the males seem less bothered until the nest is in use
