I wish you had captured this amazing spectacle too Jamie! Just been reading that normal clutch size is 8-11 but 4-22 also known! Another interesting point is that, although British birds are residents, the male of the species goes to Norway to moult & then returns ... what a palaver!!

What some blokes will do to avoid parental duties !! Do Goosanders form creches like Shelduck do ? if so it might explain the high numbers.
